Hi everyone! We're hard at work trying to keep our community clean, so if you see any spam, please report it here and we'll review ASAP! Thanks a million!
Most, if not all of the Poison Ivy wallpapers on Desktop Nexus are about the villainess from the Batman movies. So I thought it would be interesting to upload a wallpaperful of the real plant. Especially because you can't get a skin rash from a wallpaperful! lol
Poison Ivy is all too common in my area of Michigan. I'm happy to say that this Poison Ivy photo was Not taken at my house, but at a Nature Center about 4 miles away from me.
This particular Poison Ivy is rather young, and easily recognizable by it's 3 leafed pattern. I circled a typical 3 leaf sprig of it so you wouldn't miss seeing it.
Have you had any near or direct encounters with this plant? If you have, feel free to tell me about them in a wallpaper comment!

PS. I did some research on Poison Ivy and made an important discovery that I want to pass on to everybody.
Poison Ivy does Not always look like the Ivy in this photo! It can take on different appearances at each stage of it's life.
Extremely young Poison Ivy may not show the typical 3 leafed pattern! More mature Poison Ivy might have a reddish waxy cast to it's leaves. Poison Ivy can grow close to the ground or grow up a tree trunk. Sometimes it has flowers and/or berries. Every part of it at any growth stage can give you the notorious skin rash, if it comes in contact with your skin.
If you are a hiker or like to camp out, reading up on this plant and studying photographs of it would be a very smart thing to do. Here is one link to get you started. There are many more.
PPS. I was picnicking at a State Park last weekend. I went on a hike and spotted more Poison Ivy at 2 or three different growth stages. If any of the photographs that I took are good enough, I'll upload more Poison Ivy wallpapers. (I bet you can hardly wait! )

Terrific wallpaper, crisp lines! fv+100 "I made the grave mistake of pulling & cutting the vines off of our trees & fences, made a pile, and burned them with other tree limbs. I accidently inhaled the smoke, became deathly ill for a week. Before, I was never bothered by the oils of the plants, but I am now! I've learned the verse: leaves of 3 leave me be; leaves of 5 stay alive!"
