The Akimiski Island is a Canadian island with an area of approximately 86 × 32 km and an area of 3001 kilometers ² the largest island in James Bay, the southern extension of Hudson Bay. It is marshy and relatively flat. The highest elevation in southern Tibet is 31 m.

It is located just 19 miles off the coast of Ontario, however, belongs to the territory of Nunavut. The island is uninhabited, but is regularly visited by groups of scientists.
