The largest crater of the notorious Toba eruption that happened between 69,000 and 77,000 years ago - now a very beautiful and serene water body located in North Sumatra, Indonesia. In the middle of the lake is an island called Samosir. Samosir is the home of the indigenous Batak people that has spread across the nation. Now it becomes a place to visit on a holiday for its magnificent view of Lake Toba.
The view was shot on the water side of an accommodation in Tuktuk village early in the morning. It was shot in the rainiest season of the year (December), explaining the very cloudy atmosphere. Photo by Daniel Jiang
