On January 6th, I had the good fortune to see Sun dogs with my camera handy.
Cirrus clouds distorted the left sundog a bit in this photo. The jet airplane, just to the left of the sundog was a bonus. I thought some of my photos had jets in them but I didn’t know for certain until I looked at the photo on my computer. How exciting it must have been for the people on that plane to see the sundog!

ABOUT SUN DOGS Sun dogs are 2 bright spots that sometimes appear on either side of the sun when it is near the horizon. They are caused by thin layers of high ice crystal clouds, called cirrus clouds. They can appear at any time of the year, but are more commonly seen on cold Winter days. Sometimes they resemble two small 2 bright suns, and at other times they may each look like a bit of rainbow.
Sun dogs got their common name because they follow the sun like a dog follows it's master. They are also called mock suns, phantom suns, parlions, or solar parhelia.

I guess I'm hopeless, Emma. I see a sort of spherical shape, but I see it on the left side of the sun dog, not the right side. I bet if we ever went cloud watching together, I would drive you crazy!
No Elaine, I can see the flag pole 'knob' clearly. The sphere is higher up, inside the halo, touching the right side of the sun dog. It is darkish but the light reflect from it over its top right side [12h - 3h position] showing it to be a spherical object. You may have to enlarge the image a little.
It appears that there's a spherical object [to the right] interacting with a sun dog. The halo light is illuminating the upper-right side of this spherical object. Can you see it?
forgot to mention, these clouds are chemtrails. Notice how the sky looks dirty. Wind of a certain force and nature, will curl any cloud on itself or, have that sweeping effect. Cloud shapes come from the wind activity or, lack of it [as in fluffy, puffy clouds]. Clouds are dust particles to which water drops will form. A dust particle has its electrical charge. This will attract oxygen and hydrogen atoms into a molecules of water. Atmospheric pressure + wind does the rest. Light on the clouds comes only from a light emitting source. we see it either as a direct light or its reflection over the mirror like surface.
