~A walk through the forest~Caladesi Island, Florida

On the beautiful Island of Caladesi, is a nature trail 2.5 miles long. The trail leads you through a coastal strand full of saw palmetto & palm trees. Down through a pine forest with a fresh water pond, then back into a coastal strand leading to the beach.
Along the trail loop, you see Oak trees such as this one. In the days of sailing ships, the large arching limbs, were highly sought after for making ship ribs & knees.
This Oak grew right across the trail, you have to duck under it to pass. I thought it would make a nice picture to share with DN!
