The River Rouge Plant, also known as Ford Dearborn Truck Assembly Plant, held The World’s Largest Greenroof title for several years with 10 acres of flowering sedums using the lightweight Xero Flor greenroof system (12 lbs/sqft). Redevelopment of the 1917 complex formed the company’s vision of balancing lean manufacturing with environmental sensitivity. Ford partnered with Michigan State University for research.
